Gurvinder S. Deol, MD

Dr. Gurvinder Deol was born and raised in England, and after completing high school moved to the US. He received his bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed his Orthopaedic surgery residency at Penn State University College of Medicine, and then continued his postgraduate training with a fellowship in Spine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Prior to joining Wake Orthopaedics he had a successful Spine practice in the Chicago suburbs. He currently lives in Raleigh with his wife and five children.
Dr. Deol has presented his research at the local, regional and national levels, and he has multiple publications in medical literature. He treats all disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including adult and pediatric spinal deformity. He has a special interest in the cervical spine and complex cervical reconstruction. He is also trained in minimally invasive surgery and motion-sparing procedures such as disc replacement. Additionally he has extensive expertise in the area of workers' compensation as it pertains to spinal injuries.
