Soccer Injury Prevention Program
Wake Orthopaedics Elite Athletic Performance program is a research based soccer injury prevention program developed by our licensed and specially trained physical therapists. Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports for our youth population. Competition continues to heighten as more and more athletes choose soccer over other sports. These increased demands of cutting, twisting, and jumping can lead to an increase risk of suffering a knee injury. Knee injuries to male and female soccer players are on the rise, however research has shown that prevention programs can help decrease the incidence of suffering a major injury by up to 88%. Our program is based on that research and consists of exercises and sport specific agility drills that focus on coordination and proper technique.
We recommend a one hour session two times a week for a total of four weeks, however we can tailor the program to meet your specific team needs. For more information please email Dan Cyr, PT at dcyr@wakeortho.com
